Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch in the city on Wednesday arrested six people allegedly for organizing cricket betting during the matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League.

The police team while making the arrests also seized Rupees six lakhs in cash from the accused who were reportedly organizing betting on IPL matches.

The information was shared by Bengaluru City Joint Commissioner of Police Crime, Sandeep Patil through his Twitter handle. Patil in the tweet added that further investigations are underway on the case.

The Cricket mega-event IPL is being played in UAE amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The tournament is the group stages and only a handful of matches have been finished. The tournament kicked off on September 19.
