Shimoga: According to reports, Bhadravathi MLA Sangameshwar’s son, Basavesh was arrested by the Bhadravathi Hale Nagar Police on Saturday morning, for his involvement in a fight that broke out during a Kabaddi tournament.
Allegedly, a fight had broken out after the final round of the Kabaddi Tournament held on February 28th. BJP Leaders have accused MLA Sangameshwar and his family of assaulting BJP Activists during the reported fight and registered a complaint in this regard.
In the aftermath of the incident, Basavesh had been reportedly lying low in Bhadravathi. According to verified information, the Bhadravathi police apprehended Basavesh at Chitradurga, it is learned.
In relation to the fight, 15 individuals have been arrested so far. Congress has accused the police of detaining several individuals. The police have revealed that Basavesh has been produced before the magistrate.
