Bengaluru: S Ravikumar, President of the Bhovi Development Board, resigned from his post following allegations that he had taken commission from beneficiaries of the land ownership scheme.
Sources have said that Ravikumar, stating on Wednesday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah directed him to quit as the president of the Board in the backdrop of the allegations, submitted his resignation to the CM on Thursday.
He has reportedly stated in his resignation that he had executed the government schemes as head of the Board and clarified that no irregularities had taken place during his tenure.
He appreciated that investigation agencies are probing such acts that occurred during the previous government’s term. Ravikumar that he had been a victim of propaganda for having brought to light irregularities that had occurred in the Board earlier and added that attempts were being made to tarnish his image. He is learned to have also requested the CM to ensure that comprehensive investigation is carried out and action is taken against the guilty in the matter of the Board.
He reportedly urged Siddaramaiah in his letter to get cyber police and the Forensic Science Laboratory teams to investigate the issue.

Dhaka (PTI): Tarique Rahman was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Tuesday, days after leading his party to a forceful victory in the crucial general elections.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to 60-year-old Rahman at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad instead of Bangabhaban, in a departure from a long-standing tradition.
Earlier in the day, Rahman was elected as leader of the parliamentary party by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party lawmakers.
Rahman's BNP has bagged 209 out of 297 seats, while right-wing Jamaat-e-Islami secured 68 seats in the 13th Parliamentary elections. Deposed premier Sheikh Hasina's Awami League was barred from contesting polls.
