Bengaluru: Sleuths of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested DySP Shridhar Pujar for allegedly tampering with evidence in the BIT coin scam that happened during the previous BJP government's tenure. The team arrested the accused after an enquiry in Bengaluru on Monday.

An FIR had been lodged against Shridhar, DySP at Internal Security Division, for tampering with evidence related to the bit coin case at Cottonpete police station. He was accused of helping accused hackers Sriki and Robin Khandelwal during an investigation, after arresting the duo. A trial court had issued warrant by considering him 'declared accused' for absconding and not appearing for any enquiries.

However, Pujar had submitted a plea at the High Court questioning the warrant. The court had cancelled the 'declared accused' warrant issued by the lower court against the accused officer. Now SIT has arrested him and taken him into custody in connection with the sensational case.
