BJP candidate files nomination as official candidate for by-election without parties confirmation
Dharwad: B S Yeddiyurappa’s close aide S I Chikkanagowdar has files his nomination papers as the BJP candidate for the by-election for Kundagola constituency of Dharward District. He has filed nomination even before official announcement came in this regard from the party.
During the BJP’s core committee meeting, Chikkagowdar’s name was finalized for the ticket and was recommended to the high command. Soon after the meeting ended, Chikkagowdar filed nomination papers for the by-election on party ticket.
Filing of nomination as the official candidate of any party needs Party’s B-Form but Chikkanagowdar went ahead without B-Form and filed his nomination without party declaring him as its official candidate. The last date for filing nomination for by-election is set to be April 29. But he reasoned today be a good day and filed his nomination.
Party sources added that it will once again file nomination with a massive rally on April 29, after party announces his nomination officially. Chikkanagowdar lost to CS Shivalli in the previous election by a small margin of 634 votes.

Married woman stabbed to death by stalker for refusing his advances in Bengaluru
Bengaluru (PTI): A 34-year-old married woman was stabbed to death here allegedly by a man who had been stalking her after she repeatedly refused his advances, police said on Friday.
The victim, Firdos Banu, a resident of Gangondanahalli, worked as a house help, they said.
The accused, identified as Hafiz, a mechanic, has been arrested in connection with the incident, which took place on the afternoon of March 19.
According to police, Banu was returning home from work when the accused intercepted her behind a school in the Gangondanahalli area and stabbed her multiple times, leaving her seriously injured.
Locals informed her family, and she was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries later in the evening, a senior police officer said.
A case of murder has been registered at Chandra Layout police station and the accused has been arrested, he added.
Police said Banu was married to Altaf Pasha, an autorickshaw driver, for around 15 years. She is survived by her husband and three minor sons.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Hafiz, who is unmarried, had been stalking Banu for some time and continued to harass her despite her repeated refusals, they added.
