Bengaluru: In a major upset for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its candidate V Somanna has lost his seat from Chamrajnagar in the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023.

Somanna, a senior BJP leader, was contesting from the Chamrajnagar constituency, which is located in the southern part of the state. With this loss, the BJP's hopes of making significant gains in the region have been dealt a severe blow.

The defeat of Somanna is a setback for the BJP, which was hoping to gain more seats in the state assembly.
