Bengaluru: In a major fire accident that occurred in a hotel located at Nagarbhavi on Friday, one person, identified as Rajkumar (45), was killed and four others sustained severe burn injuries.
The fire broke out late Friday night in the hotel located on the service road parallel to the Nagarbhavi Outer Ring Road and spread to the top floor where eight staff members were staying. Five of the eight people fell ill due to the dense smoke and were taken to hospital after being rescued from the place.
Police have said that one of the workers, Rajkumar, however, is learned to have succumbed to the health problems due to the smoke. The remaining four staff members are being treated in hospital, they added.
The fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

Kolar: Two brothers died after drowning in a village lake near Paccharamakalahalli in Srinivaspur taluk of Kolar district.
The deceased have been identified as Narendra (25) and Chandan (23), residents of Champalli in Ronur hobli.
According to sources, the two had come to Paccharamakalahalli, which falls under the Lakshmipura Gram Panchayat limits, for manual labour work.
They reportedly entered the lake to swim and cool off from the intense afternoon heat but drowned in the water.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Rayalpad Police Station.
