Boy electrocuted in Madikeri: Locals protest against Chescom
Madikeri, Sep.29: A boy child died after coming into the contact of a snapped live wire from a motor. The incident took place in Ammathi village of Virajpet taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Kashiyappa, third son of Shashikumar and Bhagya, residents of Ammathi village.
It is said that a wire from the motor that was installed in a well by gram panchayat was lying on the ground. The boy who was on his way to anganwadi accidentally came in contact of the live wire and died on the spot.
A case has been filed in Virajpet rural police station on junior engineer of Ammathi village and electricity department staff based on the complaint filed by Shashi kumar.
Locals protest
Alleging negligence from the part of Chescom, locals protested in front of the electricity office and demanded compensation for the deceased's family.
DySP Nagappa visited the spot and told the protesters that the culprits will be punished after investigation. Congress leader Ijaz Ahmed, Mukhtar Ahmed, Khalil, SDPI leader Sabith, Rafsar, Imtiyaz and others were present during the protest.

According to the reports, “the military has targeted Iran's security chief Ali Larijani,” adding that it was not immediately clear whether he was killed or injured.
There has been no official confirmation or response from Iranian authorities so far, Reuters reported.
