Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, Siddaramaiah on Thursday added that the voters in Maharashtra Assembly Elections and Gujarat by-election rejected people who switched party and that similarly people will rejected the disgruntled MLAs in Karnataka.

“People have rejected those who switched sides. Similarly people will rejected disgruntled MLAs in the by-elections here. Congress will win all the 15 seats in the state and then BS Yediyurappa will have to resign from the CM’s post” Siddaramaiah told reporters at Vidhan Soudha on Thursday.

“BJP formed Government in the state without having majority. It is against the mandate of the people of the state. Congress will never do any such thing to form government. People will teach them the lesson in by-elections” Siddaramaiah added.

The former CM once again made it clear that the disgruntled and disqualified MLAs will not be admitted back to the party. “There is no question of doing that” Siddaramaiah responded to a query about taking back disqualified MLAs in the party.

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) (PTI): At least four workers died after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday, a police official said.

The incident took place at Moonidih coal washery in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

"Bodies of all four workers were dug out of debris during a rescue operation," Putki police station in-charge Waqar Hussain told PTI.

The incident took place when coal slurry was being loaded into trucks by workers, during which a large chunk of slurry fell and trapped several workers underneath, officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased and local villagers placed the bodies in front of the washery gate and began a protest.

They demanded compensation, jobs for dependents and action against those responsible for the incident.

Police and administration officials are trying to pacify the protesters, an official said.
