Bus-auto collision: Couple dies on spot
Harihar, August 02: A couple died on the spot when the auto they were travelling in was hit by a bus head on, near Hirekere on the outskirts of the city on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Nagaraj (38) and Lakshmi (29) of Harapanahalli Ashraya layout. When they were coming to the city from the camp on Harihar road in the auto, the bus coming from the opposite direction hit the auto when auto driver tried to avoid the pothole. Soon after the accident, bus driver fled the scene. Harapanahalli police, who visited the spot, registered a case.

Deeply distressed by loss of lives in Odisha hospital fire incident: President Murmu
New Delhi (PTI): President Droupadi Murmu on Monday condoled the loss of lives in the fire incident at a hospital in Odisha and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.
At least ten patients were killed after a major fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in the wee hours of Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said.
"Deeply distressed by the loss of lives in the tragic fire incident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured," Murmu said in a post on X.
