Badami, September 28: CLP leader and coalition government coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah said that the Cabinet expansion for the vacant posts in the coalition government and the appointment to the boards and corporations would be held on October 3.

Speaking to reporters at his home office here on Friday, Siddaramaiah said that the coalition government would be safe even after Cabinet expansion as there were no problems. The number of aspirants for the ministerial berths was more and it could not be possible to make all of them as ministers. Around 20 MLAs would be appointed as chairmen to boards and corporations, he said.

No one had won and no one was defeated in the Supreme Court order on Ayodhya issue. Both the parties were happy and they have welcomed the verdict. But the RSS people have been trying to ignite fire into the issue, he said and expressed his happiness over the election of Congress and JDS candidates as BBMP mayor and deputy mayor respectively.

In the last three terms, the Congress-JDS coalition had the power in the BBMP and this time also, they had the confidence of winning the election and won it now. In future also, they would rule the BBMP, he said.

Siddaramaiah also welcomed the Supreme Court verdict of allowing women into Sabarimala temple.

Grievances submitted

Two women of the same family submitted grievances to Siddaramaiah saying that they were poor and living in a thatched hut. They have only one acre of land, but have Rs 13 lakh loan. But Kanakadasa Cooperative Bank President Dr. Devaraj Patil said that the father of those ladies has got Rs 7 lakh loan from the bank and so far, it was not repaid. Bank employees have asked them to repay the loan and didn’t tortured them, he clarified.

Many others submitted their grievances to Siddaramaiah who directed the officials to respond to those who are in trouble.
