Election to Karnataka Assembly is just two days away and voters have been waiting to exercise their votes. But unlike previous times, the election this year has gained much curiosity and momentum. Political parties and leaders are engaged in attacks and counter attacks.

As usual, the Non Resident Indians (NRIs) who have settled in foreign countries due to jobs are also eager to know about this election. In some social media like WhatsApp, facebook and others, some people have been posting the links saying that the NRIs could also vote through online and they should click the below link to vote in online portal. They have also provided a link: http://www.nvsp.in/Forms/Forms/form6a?lang=en-GB and it has become viral in the social media.

Really, the NRIs have such an option is a question. When it is verified whether the Election Commission has provided any of such options to the NRIs, the answer is false. So far, no such online voting system is introduced in the country and this kind of messages could mislead the people.

Speaking to Varthabharati, DC Sasikanth Senthil said that such messages are fake. Only those who are on election duty are given alternative opportunity to vote in the election. Apart from this, no other facility is provided to vote. The voters have to come to polling booths and cast their votes. People should not believe such false or fake messages, he said.
