Shivamogga: A case has been filed at the city CEN (Cyber, Economics and Narcotics) Police station against miscreants who allegedly created a facebook group in the name of Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa. The group is said to have supposedly disseminated social media posts against the Minister and his political party.

The case has been registered by G.D. Manjunath, the state coordinator of the KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee).

The fraudulent Facebook group was created in disguise of the Karnataka Minister of School Education and Literacy Department' Madhu Bangarappa, and came to light on Monday (Nov 27).

The Facebook group, which has around 58K followers, includes a display picture of the Minister. Meanwhile it has been learnt that a user identified as ‘Kundapura Virat’ has posted a defamatory post against the Minister and the Congress party concerning the ‘Acche din,”

According to the complaint, the post denigrating the Congress party, attached with photos of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi read as, “These are the Acche Din. Several congressmen who entered the country and drank the water are questioning where the ‘acche din’ (good days) are. These are the ‘acche din’, witness them and be happy.”

Simultaneously, it has been alleged in the complaint that several posts disparaging Congress leaders, Karnataka government’s guarantee schemes were posted in the fake group, fabricating a bad name for the Minister and threatening his dignity.

The complainant has lodged a complaint under the Information Technology act urging stringent action against the miscreants.

Gumla (PTI): Three persons were arrested on Monday for allegedly raping two women at a village in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police said.

All the three accused have been remanded to judicial custody, Gumla Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge, Mahendra Karmali, told PTI.

According to police, one of the women had been called to Gumla Sadar by her boyfriend on Sunday for an outing.

“She arrived at the spot accompanied by a female. The woman’s boyfriend then called a friend, and they took the two women to a secluded place in Sisai police station area in the evening, forcibly made them consume alcohol before raping them,” the officer said.

The accused later called another man to the spot, who also allegedly raped the women, he said.

“The women later reached the Sadar Police Station and lodged a complaint on Sunday night. Police conducted raids and nabbed the three accused on Monday,” he added.

Further investigation is underway.
