Bengaluru, Jan 22: CPM Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat said that the central government has been exploiting tribals, dalits and women to help the capitalists to loot the wealth of the country.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Conversations of the Constitution’ organised by the Social Welfare department here on Tuesday, she said that the tribals have special Constitutional right to live and do business on the land they have been living. In spite of this, they were being evicted forcefully, she said.

The Bill providing reservation to women in the Parliament was in the House from 2009 to 2019 and no one was taking a decision to table the Bill and thus, women, dalits and tribals were being exploited continuously, he said.

Today, Sangh Parivar has been exploiting the people in the name of caste, religion, food, dress and those who were questioning it were being branded as traitors. So people should understand the agenda of the BJP, she said.

BJP Lok Sabha Member Rakesh Sinha said that the BJP has taken a proactive decision by introducing 10 per cent reservation to the upper caste poor. But some organisations have been protesting which is uncalled for. The attacks being carrying out in the name of food, caste and religion were being checked. But in West Bengal, hundreds of people were killed in the name ideology during the CPM government and it has continued during Trinamool Congress government, he said.
