Bengaluru, May 19: The Karnataka Examination Authority on Friday asked students appearing for the CET-23 in the city on May 20 to reach their centres two hours ahead of the scheduled time, in view of the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister of the state.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar will take oath as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively on Saturday at the Kanteerava Stadium here.
Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) Executive Director S Ramya in a release said appropriate measures have been taken to ensure that students reached the exam centres without delay. Steps have been taken anticipating traffic congestion owing to the oath-taking ceremony on May 20.
Candidates who have their centres in the city limits need to be present there by 8.30 am. This also applies to students who are taking only Mathematics exams, she has clarified.
In a special arrangement, breakfast and lunch will be provided to all those who have their centre at St Joseph Indian PU College (AR-code) on Vitthal Mallya road. This has been done keeping in mind the proximity of the centre to the oath-taking venue, the statement said.
Students who will be attending the Maths exam in the second session will also be provided both breakfast and lunch here. After having entered the centre at 8.30 am students will not be allowed to venture out till the end of their examination.
According to KEA, candidates can seek the help of nearby police to reach their centres by showing the admission ticket.

Rajkot, Jan 12: India, riding on Jemimah Rodrigues' maiden century in 50-over cricket, defeated Ireland by 116 runs in the second Women's ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series here on Sunday.
Opting to bat, India amassed a mammoth 370 for 5 with skipper Smriti Mandhana (73), newcomer Pratika Rawal (67) and Harleen Deol (89) smashing half-centuries, while Jemimah cracked a 91-ball 102 against hapless Ireland bowlers.
In reply, Ireland keeper-batter Christina Coulter Reilly scored a fine 80 but her efforts were not enough with India spinner Deepti Sharma grabbing three wickets for 37 runs. Priya Mishra was the other successful India bowler taking two wickets.
