Chamarajnagar, August 30: Two labourers who were transplanting at a paddy field were electrocuted when the power passed in the field through snapped wire, at Hosa Malangi village in Kollegala taluk on Thursday.

The victims were identified as Mahadevaswamy (25) and Naveen (20) of the village. They were working in the paddy field belonging to Revanna Swamy of the same village. It is said that the electric wire was snapped from the electric pole at the paddy field and while connecting the cable to the pole, the electricity passed through the wet soil and both of them died on the spot. Another labourer Lokesh sustained burn injuries in the incident and he was admitted to Kollegala government hospital. Kollegala rural police registered a case.

Ajman, UAE: Karnataka Legislative Council member and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Nazir Ahmed, visited the Ajman Ruler’s Court and Thumbay Medicity, strengthening ties between Karnataka and the UAE.
