Chamarajanagar: The MM Hills police have arrested a woman for allegedly selling illegal ganja to visitors and tourists atop the Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur Taluk here.
The arrested accused has been identified as Bhagya (40), a resident of the area.
Acting on specific information regarding the illegal sale of ganja, the raid was conducted under the guidance of Chamarajanagar Superintendent of Police Dr. B. T. Kavita and Kollegala Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhamendra. The operation was led by MM Hills Police Station Inspector Jagadish.

During the raid, the police seized 230 grams of ganja allegedly procured by the accused for sale. A case has been registered, and the accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Sub-Inspector Jayaram, staff members Siddaramaiah, Ramesh, Mahesh, and Shivamurthy participated in the raid.

Jammu (PTI): Police on Thursday arrested a hardcore criminal in the RS Pura area of Jammu district and recovered a sharp-edged weapon from his possession, officials said.
Acting on inputs, a police team arrested Davinder Kumar alias Rahul, a resident of Chak Mohd Yar in Jammu, they said.
On seeing the police, the accused attempted to flee, but the officers overpowered him, they added.
The police recovered a sharp-edged weapon (‘toka’) from his possession.
The accused has more than 13 FIRs registered against him at various police stations across Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, police said.
Police have booked Kumar under the Arms Act, and further probe is underway, they said.
