Chikkamagaluru: A 22-year-old woman from Nagaland, working at a private resort in Chikkamagaluru, was found dead in a suspected suicide, with a diary recovered from her room indicating alleged harassment by two individuals.
The deceased has been identified as Linsula, who was employed at Global Village Resort, Asianet News reported.
Police said a diary recovered from her room names two men, Rajesh and Tejas, and alleges harassment. It's said that the two men were constantly after Linsula, pressuring her for a relationship and subjecting her to physical and mental harassment.
According to police, Linsula had moved to Chikkamagaluru in search of livelihood and was supporting her family back home, including her parents. It is suspected that the alleged harassment, coupled with personal pressures, may have driven her to take the extreme step.
After the incident came to light, a woman named Lashila Inchugar, also from Nagaland, filed a complaint at the Basavanahalli police station.
Police have visited the scene, shifted the body for post-mortem, and seized the diary as part of the investigation. Her family has been informed.
