Chikkamagaluru: Two police constables were on Tuesday suspended by the Superintendent of Police over allegations of assaulting a man in custody here at the Moodigere Police Station.

SP Uma Prashant issued the order of suspension of two constables, Lohith and Vasanth attached to the Moodigere Police Station after a woman alleged the duo had assaulted her husband in the custody.

The SP has also ordered a departmental inquiry against the sub-inspector of the police station Adarsha over his role in the incident.

Yashoda, a resident of Daradahalli village, complained to the SP and the circle inspector that, following the filing of a case of theft on February 9, the Moodigere Police arrested her husband Manju and thrashed him at the station.

The grievously injured Manju is being treated at a hospital in Chikkamagaluru town.

Bengaluru: The results of the Second PUC Examination-1 will be announced on Tuesday, April 8, by Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa, read a release from the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB).

The official declaration will take place at 12:30 PM at the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) office in Bengaluru.

According to a statement released by the Board on Monday, students will be able to access their results online starting from 1:30 PM at the official website: https://karresults.nic.in. The Second PUC examinations were held across the state from March 1 to March 20.
