More than 20 sustain injuries
Chikmagalur, November 10: A girl student died and more than 20 students sustained injuries when their school bus turned turtle after the driver losing control over the vehicle, at Southikere village in NR Pura taluk on Saturday morning.
The deceased student has been identified as Diya (16). The students of Bhadravati Poornaprajna school were going to Sringeri as part of their tour when the incident happened. The injured students were admitted to McGann Hospital for treatment. NR Pura police registered a case.

Vote rigging charges against MLA DN Jeevaraj: HC grants interim stay on FIR
Bengaluru: Karnataka High Court has issued an interim stay on the FIR against Sringeri legislator DN Jeevaraj, who is accused of vote rigging.
A vacation bench consisting of Justice V Sreeshananda heard on Tuesday the BJP MLA’s plea urging the HC to quash the case against him.
After hearing the arguments, the judge granted an interim stay on the case against Jeevaraj.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned to Thursday, May 7.
