Bengaluru: "Media is the main reason for the voice of separate state for North Karnataka. Those who are instigating the North Karnataka controversy are not politicians but the media,” blamed CM HD Kumaraswamy.

The Chief Minister, who stated this at his home office Krishna on Monday, said "I have not made any wrong statement about North Karnataka. However, a section of media is emphasizing only that. The media is the cause for the voice of separate North Karnataka state. You are showing this issue every day because you are not getting any other story. The media was the main reason for all these developments, he rued.

"I spoke regarding Sriramulu in Channapatna. I answered his statements but nothing else. I asked him that from where he would get grants for a separate state. I have said hundred times that Unified Karnataka should exist. The media should act in accordance with that conscience. If the state gets divided, the media will be responsible for it," he said.
