Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday apologized for the remarks of his brother HD Revanna which he made on the actress turned politician Sumalatha Ambareesh. Revanna had made the remarks on Sumalatha’s decision to contest from Mandya constituency.
Speaking to reporter in Bengaluru on Sunday, Kumaraswamy “Revanna did not speak anything against Sumalatha. I spoke to Revanna about his remarks and asked him why he made those remarks on Sumalatha. Revanna told me that what he said was misinterpreted and what he meant was Sumalatha is in a state of sadness over the death of her husband Ambareesh and that we should not indulge in politics with her”.
“Even then I feel, Revanna should not have made those remarks. I apoligise on behalf of Revanna if anybody has been hurt by his remarks” Kumaraswamy added.

New Delhi (PTI): President Droupadi Murmu on Monday condoled the loss of lives in the fire incident at a hospital in Odisha and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.
At least ten patients were killed after a major fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in the wee hours of Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said.
"Deeply distressed by the loss of lives in the tragic fire incident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured," Murmu said in a post on X.
