Bengaluru, October 21: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said that the Auradkar Committee has submitted its report on hike in salaries and other benefits for the police personnel and it would be implemented shortly.
Speaking at the Police Commemoration Day programme at the KSRP 3rd Battalion at Koramangala in the city on Sunday, the CM said that the government would respond to the welfare programmes of the police. The government would take a decision shortly on implementing the report, he said.
Around 59 years ago, the Chinese army had killed 10 police constables who were on border security duty. To remember their service, the commemoration day was being observed. It was a programme to pay the respect to the police martyrs and their family members, the CM said.

Seraikela (PTI): An elephant was allegedly electrocuted to death in a forest in Chandil Sub-Division of Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Wednesday, an official said.
Seraikela Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Saba Alam Ansari, told PTI that the 30-year-old tusker was found dead with electrical wires wrapped on its trunk.
“Villagers’ statement and the animal’s appearance suggest that it died due to electrocution after coming in contact with electric wires,” Ansari said.
"A forest department team along with local veterinarians conducted the post-mortem examination of the elephant at the spot," the DFO said.
