Shimoga: Congress candidate Geetha Shivraj Kumar has launched an energetic campaign in Shimoga despite the scorching sun, starting from Santhekadur village in Shimoga taluk where she received a warm welcome from the villagers.

Addressing a large gathering at an open meeting in Sante Kadur village, Geeta Shivraj Kumar appealed to the people, stating, "I am Shimoga's daughter and should not be sent back empty-handed. I will be the voice of the malenadu's people."

She expressed happiness at the participation of thousands of women in her campaign and expressed her desire to engage in social service. Geeta highlighted the Congress party's commitment to implementing various welfare schemes for the poor.

Minister Madhubangarappa expressed confidence that Geeta Shivraj Kumar would effectively represent the district's interests and urged the people to support her victory.

Referring to former MP Bangarappa's legacy, Madhubangarappa spoke on the continued relevance of Bangarappa's implemented plans and called for justice to be served for Bangarappa's defeat.

The campaign event was attended by former MP Ayanur Manjunath, prominent figures GD Manjunath, Veda Vijayakumar, and Vijayakumar, among others.

New Delhi, Apr 28: The Delhi Police registered a case on Sunday after a complaint by the Ministry of Home Affairs in connection with the doctored videos of Union Home Minister Amit Shah being circulated on social media platforms, officials said.

The Special Cell has registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC and relevant provision of the IT Act, they said. Sources in the Special Cell said that now arrests are likely to follow across the country.

According to the complaint filed by Sinku Sharan Singh, DC, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), some doctored videos are being circulated on social media with "the intent of creating disharmony among communities which is likely to affect public tranquility and public order."

According to the complainant, links from which the videos were shared were also attached for further action.

A copy of the FIR was also sent to the IFSO unit of the Delhi Cyber Police.
