Bengaluru: K Rahman Khan, president of the KPCC Disciplinary Committee, issued an order for expulsion of the rebel candidates from primary membership of the Congress for a period of six years.

Kunigal former MLA BB Ramaswamy Gowda, Jagalur former MLA HP Rajesh, Harapanahalli candidate and KPCC general secretary MP Latha Mallikarjun, Shirahatti former MLA Ramakrishna Doddamani, Congress leader from Arkalgud Krishna Gowda, Bidar South KPCC Convener Chandra Singh, Tarikere DCC Vice-president Gopi Krishna, Khanapur former Youth Congress leader Irfan Talikote, Teradal Kisan Cell Vice-president Dr Padmajit Nadagouda, Hubli-Dharwad West Block former President Basavaraj Malari, Nelamangala Block former President Umadevi, Bidar South DCC Vice-president Yousuf Ali Jamdar, ST Cell President Narayana Bangi and Taluk Panchayat former President Vijayakumar Barur were expelled.

Ticket aspirants of the Congress Savitha Mallesh Nayak (Mayakonda), PH Chandrashekhar (Srirangapatna), Puttu Anjanappa (Shidlaghatta), Shambhu Kolkar (Raibagh), BH Bheemappa (Shimoga Rural), SP Nagaraja Gowda (Shikaripura), Dornal Parameshwarappa (Tarikere), Shashi Chaudhi (Bidar), Laxman Sorali (Aurad) and Mujibuddin (Raichur) have also been expelled from the party.

The KPCC Disciplinary Committee president has, in his order, instructed all other members and activists of the party not to campaign for the expelled members. “Strict action will be taken against any member who is found working in support of the expelled members,” Khan has added.

Guwahati (PTI): Blistering fifties by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel powered Rajasthan Royals to a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their IPL match here on Friday.

Sent in to bat, RCB rode on a fighting half-century by skipper Rajat Patidar (63) to post 201 for 8.

Virat Kohli (32), Romario Shepherd (22) and Venkatesh Iyer (29) also chipped in with useful contributions.

In reply, Sooryavanshi (78 off 26 balls) and Dhruv Jurel (81 not out off 43 balls) shared a 37-ball 108-run partnership for the second wicket to set the platform. Krunal Pandya (2/30) tried to bring them back with back-to-back wickets.

But Jurel, in the company of Ravindra Jadeja (24), completed the task with another 68-run stand, with two overs to spare.

For RR, Jofra Archer (2/33), Ravi Bishnoi (2/32) and Brijesh Sharma (2/37) took two wickets.
