Shimoga: The Congress party has announced Ayanur Manjunath as its candidate for the South-West graduate constituency of the Vidhan Parishad.
This decision comes after Manjunath resigned from his Parishad membership, joined the JDS, and contested, but lost, in the last assembly elections due to not receiving a BJP ticket from the Shimoga constituency.
He later joined the Congress party. With elections now announced for the vacant council seat following Manjunath's resignation, he is set to contest as a Congress candidate.
