Hassan: In a bid to consolidate its political strength, the ruling Congress party is set to organise a major rally in Hassan on December 5. The event reportedly aims to showcase the strength of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda's and the Janata Dal (Secular)’s bastion.
The decision to hold the rally was discussed during a meeting convened by Siddaramaiah with senior ministers on Monday. The CM emphasised the need for meticulous planning and instructed the ministers to make necessary arrangements under the leadership of Co-Operation Minister K.S. Rajanna.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Rajanna confirmed the rally, stating, “Yes, we are planning to organise a political rally in Hassan to send out a strong message.”
In addition to this, the Congress party will also hold another rally for beneficiaries of the government’s guarantee schemes in Tumakuru on December 2, under the leadership of Home Minister G Parameshwara.
