Belthangady: A man who had earlier claimed to have buried more than 100 dead bodies in Dharmasthala appeared before the Belthangady court on Friday and recorded his statement before the judge.

The man, who reportedly worked as a cleaning staff member in Dharmasthala, had filed a complaint through his lawyer at the Dharmasthala Police Station on July 4.

Following the complaint, he was produced before the Principal Civil Judge and First Class Judicial Magistrate in Belthangady, where he recorded his statement.

New Delhi (PTI): A shop owner sustained bullet injuries after a group of men opened fire at him in the Nizamuddin area, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred around 11 pm on Friday after which the injured was rushed to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment, a senior police officer said.

"The shop owner had rented the premises to someone. Around 15 days back, he got the tenant to empty the shop, which might have led to the incident. The matter is being probed," the officer said.
