Bengaluru: Indian cricketer and the country’s only second triple centurion in Test cricket, Karun Nair on Saturday posted an emotional tweet after not finding himself a place in the Karnataka’s squad for first two matches of Ranji Trophy.

Karun Nair was once touted to be the future star of the Indian dressing room after he became only the second Indian batsman after Virender Sehwag to score a triple hundred in a Test inning in December 2016 against the mighty England at Chennai.

A couple of failures that followed, meant his exit from the Indian team after which the star batsman soon faded away from the scene.

While he opened up later on not being given any clarification by the team management on why he never got a chance to play for India again, Nair continued to be an integral part of the Karnataka team in domestic cricket.

But of late, his stocks have plummeted in domestic cricket as well and after not finding a place in the state's squads for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, he was on Saturday overlooked for the season's first two Ranji Trophy matches as well.

Nair on Saturday took to his Twitter handle and posted an emotional message. He wrote “Dear cricket, give me one more chance.” With an emoji of crossed fingers.

The tweet has gone viral with several cricket followers and fans writing inspirational messages for the cricketer.
