Bengaluru: Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Sunday while responding to a statement by the disgruntled Congress MLAs saying that Siddaramaiah should become the CM of the state in coalition government, added that the MLAs need not be loyal to him but to the party.
Siddaramaiah said “I don’t want them to be loyal to me. They should be loyal to the party”.
Congress MLAs who resigned on Saturday in a setback to the Congress-JD(S) coalition government added that they would come back to the party if the high-command makes Siddaramaiah the CM of the state.
In a failed attempt, Minister DK Shivakumar and KPCC Secretary Ishwar Khandre tried to persuade the disgruntled MLAs.
According to fresh reports AICC General Secretary Karnataka In-Charge K C Venugopal has initiated talks with the disgruntled MLAs.

Dubai (AP): Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that attacks against Iran will “increase significantly” in the coming week.
Katz spoke on Saturday, hours after US President Donald Trump said he was considering “winding down” military operations in the Mideast.
“This week, the intensity of the attacks that the IDF and the US military will carry out against the Iranian terrorist regime and against the infrastructures on which it relies will increase significantly,” Katz said in a video statement.
