Bengaluru: In the backdrop of the severe criticism of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar by former minister and BJP leader Ramesh Jarkiholi at a press meet on Monday, the supporters of Shivakumar were seen sticking posters for derogation of the BJP leader on the compound walls of his house in Sadashivanagar in the city late Monday night.
The police officers, on being alerted of the posters stuck outside the BJP leader's residence, immediately visited the spot and got the posters removed from the compound walls.
Sheshadripuram ASP Prakash, who also visited the spot, ordered that Jarkiholi's residence be provided police security, to prevent untoward incidents.
Shivakumar's supporters are learned to have been angered by Jarkiholi calling the Deputy CM “a coward and a cheat, showing expertise only in unlawful activities” and also referring to him with disrespect in singular, during the press meet on Monday.

Bagalkot: The Congress has secured a victory in the Bagalkot Assembly by-election, with its candidate Umesh Meti winning the seat after maintaining a lead from the first round of counting till the end.
The seat had fallen vacant following the death of sitting MLA H Y Meti. Umesh Meti, his son, has now been elected to the Assembly.
Party leaders attributed the victory to a combination of factors, including sympathy votes, the state government’s schemes, and campaign strategies led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and senior leader Satish Jarkiholi.
The Congress maintained a consistent lead throughout the counting process, eventually securing a decisive win in the constituency.
