Gadag: Shirahatti Fakeera Dingaleshwara Swamiji on Tuesday said that all pontiffs are commissioned, yet not overtly. The truth will come out if they undergo a narco-analysis test, he said.
Addressing a press conference earlier today, he said, “Excluding the muzrai department, more or less all departments are being given commissions by the pontiffs with donation. However, these things are not discussed openly. The truth will come out when they go through a narco-analysis test.”
“Mutts and temples will provide a receipt for the donations they receive. But do ministers provide a receipt for the bribe they take?” he questioned and added, “Out of Rs 75 lakh issued for the development of out mutt, the government officials are demanding Rs 25 lakh for themselves. How could we expect a better document?”
Further, he argued, “the CM’s decision to celebrate the birth anniversary of Tontadarya Mutt seer as National Integration Day is condemnable. The seer of Lingayat community was against Brahmanical principles. Thus, he cannot be a symbol of integration,” and asked “Don’t you remember how he provoked a statewide unrest by claiming Lingayat community to be distinct?”

Palghar (PTI): A man allegedly strangled his 15-year-old son and hanged himself at their house in Maharashtra's Palghar district, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred in Pimpalsheth village in the tribal-dominated Jawhar taluka on Wednesday, an official said.
Sharad Bhoye (40), a conductor with the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) who was under suspension, strangled his son Bhavesh with a wire rope, sub-inspector Anil Dighole said.
He said Sharad had been under suspension for the last three months and was depressed about the situation.
As per preliminary probe, Bhoye had gone to his farmhouse around noon on Wednesday and strangled his son, a Class 10 student, after he returned home from school, and also banged the boy's body on the floor, causing fatal injuries.
The man then hanged himself from the ceiling in another room in the house, the official said.
Bhoye's father, who lived nearby, discovered the bodies and the authorities were alerted, he said.
The official said the bodies were sent for post-mortem, and a case was registered.
