Dy.CM is not a constitutional post, wouldn't have accepted it if offered to me: Jagadish Shettar
Huballi: Former Karnataka CM and cabinet minister Jagadish Shettar on Tuesday said that the position of Deputy CM is not a constitutional position and is only created for the sake of respect. The Large and Medium Industries Ministers also added that he would not have accepted the post had it been offered to him.
Speaking to reporters in the city on Tuesday Shettar said “The leaders and ministers in party are satisfied by what has been decided by the high command. We don’t have any differences within the party”.
“I don’t know why our former CM Siddaramaiah has fallen in love with every affair of CM Yediyurappa. He should be worried about his party and not be worried about us” he said while taking a dig at Siddaramaiah’s constant attacks on BJP and Yediyurappa.
“Due to the differences within his party, Siddaramaiah the CLP leader could not become the leader of opposition. And then he questions differences in our party” Shettar said.

BJP leader’s son killed in Hubballi reel shoot; minor driver, father arrested
Hubballi: A tragic accident during a social media reel shoot that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy has led to the arrest of a minor and his father in Hubballi, police said.
According to Asianet News, the deceased has been identified as Nimish Sangalad, son of BJP leader Veeresh Sangalad. The incident occurred while a group of minors were attempting to shoot an action brake reel.
According to police, the stunt involved driving a car at high speed and suddenly applying brakes for dramatic effect. However, the attempt went wrong when the speeding vehicle crashed into a scooter, killing Nimish on the spot.
Police have arrested the minor who was driving the car along with his father, Nagaraj Raikar, the owner of the vehicle, for allegedly allowing an underage person to drive. Both have been remanded to judicial custody.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle’s insurance had expired in December 2022 and had not been renewed. Officials also found that the car is still registered in the name of its previous owner, Anil Kumar S. from Uttar Pradesh, since 2013. The ownership documents were reportedly never transferred properly.
Further investigation is underway.
