First international Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Bahrain on Oct 5
Bengaluru, October 02: For the first time, international Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, organised by the Kannada Sahitya Parishad , Kannada University of Hampi and Kannada Sangha, will be held in Bahrain on October 05 for two days.
Kannada and Culture Minister Dr Jayamala would inaugurate the sammelan, while Kannada Sahitya Parishad President Dr Manu Baligar would preside over it. Writer H. S. Venkateshamurthy, Kannada Development Authority president SG Siddaramaiah, Hampi Kannada University vice Chancellor Dr Mallika Ghanti, Bahrain Kannada Sangha president Pradeep Shetty would be present.
The valedictory programme would be held on October 6 at 6.30 pm and Housing and Urban Development Minister UT Khader would participate and Dr L Hanumanthaiah would deliver valedictory address.
‘Gulf Kannadigara sthithi gathi’, ‘Kannada saahithyadalli haasya’, ‘Vishwabharatige Kannadadarathi’ sessions would be held. Kannada literature, culture, problems of foreign Kannadigas and education medium would be the subjects in the sammelan. More than 600 participants including Kannadigas from Bahrain, Dubai and other parts of various states in india would take part in it.

Gujarat Titans score 217 for 6 against Rajasthan Royals
Ahmedabad, Apr 9 (PTI): Sai Sudharsan struck a breezy 82 to help Gujarat Titans post 217 for 6 against Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League match here on Wednesday.
Sudharsan's 53-ball innings was studded with eight fours and three sixes, while M Shahrukh Khan and Jos Buttler made 36 each after GT were invited to bat.
For RR, Maheesh Theekshana and Tushar Deshpande took two wickets apiece while Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma got one each.
