Tumkur, July 4: Five persons returning from a wedding engagement program died on the spot after the car they were travelling collided with a lorry coming from opposite direction at Keregala Palya village near Madhugiri on Wednesday, July 4.

The deceased have been identified as Murali(20), Manjunath (24), Dinesh (24), Ram Mohan (23) and Shiva Prasad (25). They were returning after attending an engagement ceremony in Kundurpi near Kalyandurg in Andhra Pradesh.

The impact of the accident was so high that both the vehicle pierced into each other and officials used Hitachi to separate them and take the dead bodies out said eye witness. A case has been filed in Madhugiri police station.

Jammu (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Friday night ahead of the hectic day-long campaigning on Saturday during which he will address five public rallies in three districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah arrived here from Delhi and drove straight to the State Guest house, a senior BJP leader said.

Shah will fly to Poonch early tomorrow morning and address the first of four rallies in Mendhar followed by Surankote in Poonch district, he added.

Shah is scheduled to address rallies in Thanamandi and Rajouri followed by Akhnoor in Jammu.

He is also expected to hold a rally in the Nowshera constituency in support of Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday.
