Five students including three teenagers killed in horrific road accident in Karnataka
Hassan: In a horrific road accident reported on Tuesday afternoon, five students died after their car collided with an KSRTC bus on Belur-Hassan National Highway here.
The deceased students have been identified as Mohammed Hasan (20), Akmal (19), Mohammed Kaif (20), Rihan (18), and Jilani (19), all residents of Belur.
According to the reports, four students died on the spot while another who sustained critical injuries died while being treated at the hospital.
The dead bodies of the students have been shifted to Belur Govt hospital for postmortem.
A case has been registered at local police station in this regard.

JDS leader Patel Shivaram passes away
Hassan: Prominent JDS leader, former Legislative Council member, and Apex Bank director Patel Shivaram (75) passed away today following a heart attack at his Housing Board residence in Hassan.
Shivaram had been unwell for several days. He served as a Legislative Council member from 2010 to 2016 and was a close associate of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. He also held positions such as chairman and director of HDCC Bank and director of the Hassan Milk Union.
A prominent leader in the JDS for nearly four decades, he was known for his influence in Hassan. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and a son.
JDS leaders and supporters have expressed their condolences on his demise.
