New Delhi, Nov 2: Taking time out from her official engagement, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday watched Kannada blockbuster movie 'Kantara'.
"With a team of volunteers and well-wishers watched #KantaraMovie in Bengaluru. Well made @shetty_rishab (writer/director/actor). The film captures the rich traditions of Tuluvanadu and Karavali," the finance minister said in a tweet.
She watched the movie in a theatre at a mall here.
This low-budget action thriller showcases indigenous art form of Karnataka turning out to be a huge commercial success.
In her earlier stint as defence minister, Sitharaman had watched the movie 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', along with a group of war veterans in 2019.

Bareilly: Two individuals linked to the violence in Sambhal on November 24 were arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police from Batla House in Delhi on Friday night. The arrests come as part of an ongoing investigation into connections between the Sambhal violence and certain areas in Delhi.
Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Singh stated that locations like Jamia, Okhla, Jafrabad, and Seelampur are under surveillance. A police officer involved in the case revealed that one of the arrested individuals, identified as Mohd Adnan, admitted to taking refuge in Batla House with friends after the violence. Evidence has been collected to support these claims.
Sambhal SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi noted that the two were identified using video footage from the incident. So far, at least 50 suspects have been arrested, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend others involved.
In a related incident, a complaint was filed with Sambhal police alleging death threats to Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq and his father, Mamlukur Rahman Barq. An FIR was registered against Ajay Sharma from Kotpurvi locality, who was detained for disturbing the peace on Saturday.
