Bengaluru: Former Karnataka CM and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah along with 11 others were served summons by a special court in a land denotification case.

Siddaramaiah along with others has been asked to appear before the court of September 26.

The case dates back to 1997 when Siddaramaiah was the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and had alleged denotified land illegally.

Others who have been served summons also include Madhusudhan, Ramadas, Ajay Seth and others.

Siddaramaiah in 1997 had allegedly denotified land at Mysuru's Hinakel misusing his powers as the Dy.CM of the state and had sold it in 2003.

A person named Gangaraj had filed a case at Laxmipuram Police Station after which a B report was submitted to the court. The court had then transferred the case to a special court in Bengaluru meant for representatives of people.
