Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader and Former Karnataka Chief Minister on Wednesday announced his retirement from electoral politics.

Addressing the media in Hassan, he stated, “ The party has given me everything in my 30 year political career, I have worked as an MLA for 10 years, MP for 20 years, Chief Minister for one year and was holding the post of State Party President for 4 years, I don’t want more.”

Gowda who had been to Delhi on October 25 to meet party national president JP Nadda on his invitation, returned back to Bengaluru as he was unable to meet the party chief after spending three days. Gowda also had expressed his displeasure over the delay in appointing the state unit president.

Istanbul (AP): A gunfight erupted outside a building housing the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday, leaving two assailants dead and a police officer wounded, Turkiye's Haberturk broadcaster reported.

The report said attackers were carrying long-barreled weapons. An exchange of fire with police killed two, while a third assailant was captured. One officer sustained injuries during the clash.

The area surrounding the building was quickly sealed off.
