Chamrajnagar: In a heart-wrenching incident reported from Chamrajnagar district, a 4-year-old girl has been orphaned after both her parents have succumbed to COVID-19. The incident has been reported from Kotthalawadi Taluk here.

Guruprasad, a resident of Kotthalawadi, and his wife Rashmi recently tested positive for COVID-19 and were under home isolation when Guruprasad succumbed to the virus about four days ago.

Guruprasad’s wife Rashmi also breathed her last in home isolation on Sunday night, leaving their four-year-old daughter orphaned.

The daughter, Sudharani is now under the care of her grandmother. It is learned the grandmother is also suspected to be a COVID patient.

Mangaluru: Fourteen Rama Sena activists, including their leader Prasad Attavar, have been remanded to two weeks of judicial custody following their involvement in the vandalism of Colors Unisex Salon near Bejai here on Thursday.

The activists reportedly stormed into the salon, alleging that immoral activities were taking place on the premises. They caused significant damage by breaking furniture, while also assaulting, insulting, and verbally abusing the staff before fleeing the scene.

Barke police arrested all 14 individuals, including Prasad Attavar. Following their arrest, the accused were presented before the court on Friday, and the court issued a judicial custody to the accused.
