Gadkari, Oscar to be invited to inaugurate Shiradi Ghat road: UT Khader
Bengaluru, July 09: Urban Development and Housing Minister UT Khader said that Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway Shiradi ghat stretch was repaired and it was decided to invite Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and former union minister Oscar Fernandes for the inauguration of the road.
After holding a meeting with PWD Minister HD Revanna and Transportation department officers to review the progress of the road at the 313 room of the Vidhana Soudha here on Monday, Khader said that a fax message was sent to the office of the Union Minister for fixing the date. Currently, Nitin Gadkari was the Minister for Road Transport and Highways. Then Minister in the previous government Oscar Fernandez had released Rs 185 crore for the repair of the road. So, it was decided to invite both of them for the inaugural programme along with other dignitaries, he said.

J&K polls: Amit Shah arrives in Jammu ahead of Saturday's hectic campaigning
Jammu (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Friday night ahead of the hectic day-long campaigning on Saturday during which he will address five public rallies in three districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah arrived here from Delhi and drove straight to the State Guest house, a senior BJP leader said.
Shah will fly to Poonch early tomorrow morning and address the first of four rallies in Mendhar followed by Surankote in Poonch district, he added.
Shah is scheduled to address rallies in Thanamandi and Rajouri followed by Akhnoor in Jammu.
He is also expected to hold a rally in the Nowshera constituency in support of Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday.
