Bengaluru, June 25: SIT officials suspected that the pistol used to kill journalist Gauri Lankesh might be supplied from Madhya Pradesh.

It is said that the accused had brought the pistol from Madhya Pradesh to Vijayapura and later, brought to Bengaluru. The accused might have used the pistols from Madhya Pradesh in other murders also, sources said.

The SIT officials have continued their investigation to find out the root of the pistol. The SIT is also investigating on the supply of bullets and collecting information in Madhya Pradesh.

It is said that a police team from Madhya Pradesh came to Bengaluru in the Gauri Lankesh murder case and investigating the persons behind the murder of rationalists.

As the accused were not traced in the murders of rationalists in Maharashtra, the accused in Gauri Lankesh murder have said to be neglected the Karnataka police due to which they were trapped, it is said.

Jammu (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Friday night ahead of the hectic day-long campaigning on Saturday during which he will address five public rallies in three districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah arrived here from Delhi and drove straight to the State Guest house, a senior BJP leader said.

Shah will fly to Poonch early tomorrow morning and address the first of four rallies in Mendhar followed by Surankote in Poonch district, he added.

Shah is scheduled to address rallies in Thanamandi and Rajouri followed by Akhnoor in Jammu.

He is also expected to hold a rally in the Nowshera constituency in support of Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday.
