Give two ministerial berths to minority community: Minister Zameer Ahmed
Belagavi, Dec 13: “We have asked two ministerial berths to minority community during Cabinet expansion. Minorities have played a major role in winning 80 seats in the last Assembly election by the Congress”, said Minority Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, the Minister said that the Cabinet would be expanded on December 22 and there was no doubt in it. But they would follow the High Command decision whatever it may be. Even if he was dropped from the Cabinet, he would be ready to accept it, he said.
The Congress high command has decided that HD Kumaraswamy has to continue as the Chief Minister in the Congress-JDS coalition government for the next five years. They were not putting any pressure and the Chief Minister was given free hand. The statement given by former minister Basavaraj Horatti was his personal opinion, he clarified.
Regarding the court direction on the report of the State Minority Commission chairman Anwar Manippady, encroachment of Wakf Board property, he has no information. He would discuss with the senior officers of the department and take a decision on the court verdict, he said.

Saudi Arabia intercepts drone near gas facility in Eastern Province
Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence has said it intercepted and destroyed a drone that was attempting to approach a gas facility in the country’s Eastern Province.
According to a spokesperson, the drone was detected and neutralised before it could reach its target.
No damage was reported in the incident.
