Davangere: In a startling revelation, BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal said on Sunday that a 'great leader' has set aside Rs 1,000 crore in an ambitious bid to become the chief minister of Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters, Yatnal refrained from disclosing the identity of this leader but insisted that they are aware of who it is. “A currency note counting machine was found at his house in the past. He is making towering claims about a big revolution in state politics in December,” he was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.

The senior BJP legislator remarked that the Siddaramaiah-led government is short-lived and could collapse at any moment.

He acknowledged that there are many people in the BJP who have accumulated wealth through corrupt practices. “But the party leadership will not allow them to bring down the government,” Yatnal said, indirectly referring to party state president B.Y. Vijayendra, DH added. However, he stated that the high command has instructed them not to speak against Vijayendra in public.

Additionally, the Vijayapura City MLA asserted that the BJP leadership will protect its legislators from poaching attempts, whether through horse trading or other methods.

He stated that they are committed to safeguarding the party and indicated that they will wait until December before making any significant moves.

New Delhi (PTI): Sidelined AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Friday shared on Instagram a video titled "Voice Raised Price Paid", a compilation of clips of him raising various issues in Parliament, amid his ongoing rift with his party.

"With due respect, to those who are questioning my parliamentary performance, I will let my work do the talking," he said in the post.

The AAP on April 2 removed Chadha as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha and has accused him of shying away from raising his voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre in Parliament and instead engaging in "soft PR".

A combative Chadha has dismissed the party's allegations as "lies" and said that he went to Parliament to raise people's issues and not to create ruckus.

Since his removal as the AAP's deputy leader in the Upper House, Chadha has shared several videos and posts on social media, making it clear that he will not take his demotion lying down.
