Mysuru: Union Minister and JD(S) State President HD Kumaraswamy has severely criticized GT Devegowda, party legislator from Chamundeshwari constituency, saying the MLA had no loyalty towards the party.

Addressing a press meet in the city, Kumaraswamy said that Devegowda supported leaders of various parties. “Do we need to retain in the party a member who has no loyalty?” he has asked.

Stating that he had been pained by certain incidents, he asked a reporter not to repeatedly question him henceforth about Devegowda.

“There are many aspirants within the party for the Chamundeshwari seat and all of them are capable of winning from there as I have an emotional link with the constituency. He (GT Devegowda) no doubt gloats of having mentored many people, but at present, he is focusing only on one person. Does he have any loyalty?” Kumaraswamy asked and added, “I am saying so to prevent party activists from getting upset.”

When asked about the 2028 Assembly elections, the JD(S) state head said that the JD(S)-BJP alliance would field candidates from and win all 11 constituencies in Mysuru district.
