Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has dismissed the petition filed by Krishna Naik, accused in the illegal installation of a bronze statue of Parashurama on Umikal Hill in Karkala, Udupi district. The petition sought the quashing of the FIR and complaint lodged against him at the Udupi Town Police Station.

A single-judge bench of Justice M. Nagaprasanna, while hearing the case, observed that there was prima facie evidence of illegal activity and that an investigation must proceed. During the hearing, senior advocate Arun Shyam, representing the petitioner, argued that the allegations against Krishna Naik were baseless and politically motivated. He further contended that the statue, now part of the Parashurama Theme Park, had been relocated, and Congress leaders had harassed Naik at his residence in Bengaluru.

However, the court rejected these arguments and issued a order, dismissing Krishna Naik's petition.
