Bengaluru: Karnataka Health Minister Dr. Sudhakar on Thursday announced that those returning to the state after attending the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, people should be subjected to home quarantine.

The minister, in a tweet from his official handle, added that the pilgrims, visitors of the Kumbh Mela will also have to undergo compulsory RT – PCR testing immediately.

He further stated that only after testing negative for the virus can people restore their normal activities.

Udupi (May 13): The 48-year-old son of Ghulam Mohammed Moodbidri, a resident of Bolar in Mangaluru, Mohammed Anees Shaikh passed away at a private hospital in Udupi on Thursday.

He is the son-in-law of Nisar Ahmed of Indrali. He is survived by his wife, a son, and three daughters. Anees was known for his friendly nature and for maintaining good social rapport with people around him.

His funeral rites were held at Indrali’s Noorani Masjid on Friday morning.
