Bengaluru, Jan 21: Deeply condoling the death of Dr Shivakumar Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt, who was known as 'walking god', Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that the Swamiji has lighted the life of lakhs of children with three types of Dasoha.
"His work of education and food has become a model for all beyond country, language, caste and religions.
When I was the chief minister, I had given the 'Karnataka Ratna' award and it was a great experience. Then I had recommended the central government to honour the Swamiji with the Bharat Ratna award. His service to the society in education and Dasoha should be emulated. In view of this, I will appeal the central government to give Bharat Ratna to the Swamiji posthumously", he said.
"Though the Swamiji departed us physically, through his services, Education and others activities, the Swamiji is still alive. He has lived up to his beliefs till his last breath and I will bow down to a great soul. I pray the God to give his devotees, Students, Followers and people of the Mutt the courage to bear the loss", the CM said in a statement.
'The death of Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji of the Siddaganga Mutt who served the society without having any discrimination between the people, was a great loss to the society".
