Bengaluru: "No BJP leaders have contacted me and I will not fall prey to Operation Lotus strategy of the BJP", said Ballari rural MLA B Nagendra.

Speaking to reporters at the Vidhana Soudha here on Wednesday, the MLA said that "no lotus will come to me. Earlier, I had once elected on BJP ticket. Now I am in Congress and I will not desert the Congress", he said.

"I have replied to all notices served by the party. It was true that he was unhappy about some issues. We have asked the party high command to give ticket to local candidate in the by-elections to Ballari Lok Sabha constituency. But the party has given ticket to Ugrappa", he said.

"I was expecting ministerial post. But I didn't get the chance. I held discussion with the party leaders who have promised me of considering me in future. For my personal work, I have gone Mumbai. I have not visited my constituency for the last six months. I will be available in my constituency", he said.

He would speak to CLP leader Siddaramaiah over complaint on disqualification of his MLA position, he said.

Mumbai (PTI): The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League will be held between the March 26 to May 31 window but it remains to be seen if Bengaluru, the home of RCB, holds the opening match.

As per the norms, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium should host the tournament opener given the home side, Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the IPL 2025 title.

While the venue has received conditional clearance from the Karnataka state government, it also needs to meet the necessary safety and security standards following the death of 11 fans in a stampede during RCB's victory celebrations in June this year.

The mini-auction for IPL 2026 will be held in Abu Dhabi today with three-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders coming in with the biggest purse.
