Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday instructed top police officials to heighten patrolling in crowded areas. This comes a day after an IED (Improvised explosive device) bomb rocked the Rameshwaram cafe in the city’s Whitefield.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister who held a meeting with the top officials of the Home Department earlier in the day urged officials to locate densely populated areas and to increase police patrols in such areas to provide protection to the people.
CM Siddaramaiah further instructed top cops to make effective use of possible technology in probing the ‘Rameshwaram Cafe’ blast incident,’and also to expedite the investigation and to remain vigilant so that such incidents do not recur.
In addition, the CM also ordered the Police to stop spreading false news on social media and mislead people.

“State intelligence should be more conscious and alert. Stringent action should be initiated without any sympathy towards the social traitors who disseminate false news on social media sites. I will conduct a separate meeting with the police department regarding spreading false information. We have to change according to time, and work should be done in an expedited manner,” he added.
IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge, Home Minister G. Parameshwar, Chief Minister's Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed, Chief Minister's Deputy Chief Secretary L. K. Atiq, Secretary Dr. Trilok Chandra, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary SR Umashankar, Director General of Police Alok Mohan, Commissioner of Police B. Dayanand and others were present during the meeting.

New Delhi (PTI): The maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 32.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 1.3 notches below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 1.3 notches below the average for the season, while the relative humidity stood at 46 per cent at 5.30 pm, the IMD said.
The weather department has forecast a partly cloudy sky for Monday with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 34 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The air quality remained 'moderate' at 4 pm, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 134, a slight drop from Saturday’s 137, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
